Not all campuses work the same way.  In this session participants will be introduced to three different approaches to implementing QM on their campus.

How can we help all faculty meet some of the QM Standards in every LMS course automatically?  How do we keep the content and references up to date when courses are rolled or copied for upcoming semesters?  This session will cover the solution a team of instructional designers and technologists created and what we included to cover all of General Standard 7 plus 4 other standards.

Failure is not an option right . . . well, actually it is!  Learning from my mistakes has been an integral part of my current success managing our system-wide Quality Matters program.  In this session I'll share the mistakes I've made so participants don't have to make them too.  I'll also offer some practical tips and solutions for managing a QM program that participants can apply today.  Participants will share their program management challenges, receive feedback from peers, and start writing an action plan.

Two studies provide evidence of the impact of participating in QM Peer Reviews and QM Professional Development. Data analysis of the QM review exit survey highlights who is making change, not only on their online, but also  face-to-face courses.   A study done by researchers at The University of Pittsburgh explored the impact of QM PD workshops and courses on faculty's pedagogical practices in online, face-to-face, and blended instructional modes. Both studies point to participating in QM PD impacts teaching across delivery formats.

The purpose of the present study is to understand faculty, student, and administrator perceptions of quality in distance education courses. Our research question was: What is the meaning of "quality" in an online course to administrators, faculty, and students? Qualitative data revealed the top 7 quality features and the discrepancies among the rankings of the 7 quality features among faculty, students, and administrators.

QM Research Colleagues will briefly overview the most recent findings from three research projects that inform the development and work of QM standards and services.  Rigorous methodologies were used to identify themes and categories of quality online learning in three extensive reviews of (1) the independent research focused on higher education; (2) on K-12; and (3) on online instructor and teaching competencies.  These studies are examples of QM's continual grounding in educational research which is translated into actionable steps of standards of quality online learning a

This session gives an overview of QM Research and puts all the pieces of the research puzzle together to provide a comprehensive understanding of what is known about QM Research.
