Description
This session aims to help higher education professionals consider trauma-informed principles when designing or modifying Open Education Resources (OERs). More educators are adopting OERs in their courses as a cost-saving strategy for students. In this session, participants will apply a trauma-informed framework (the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Framework—IDEA) to the OERs they plan to use to determine their appropriateness. The audit will include an analysis of culturally responsive and accessible elements found in the OERs.
