All too often, online course quality is determined by a course’s compliance with industry standards rather than consultation with actual students. In this session, we will share how we used research-based methods to develop a Student Advisory Board for Instructional Technology, ensuring that student feedback is actively used in refining online course evaluation and improvement strategies. We will outline the four-step process developed to weave student insights into the existing Quality Matters process and share plans for enhancing both the Student Advisory Board and Quality Matters practices. The session aims to inspire and guide educators and instructional designers in adopting similar student-driven quality assurance methodologies in their institutions, aligning more closely with the real needs and experiences of online learners.
