An Experiment in Equity: Developing Online Labs for Science

ACCESS struggled to provide safe and effective labs for students in fully online courses. No matter how simple the equipment list, students had difficulty finding resources, time, space, and support for hands-on labs. Faced with issues of equity, ACCESS began developing its own online labs. In this session, we will:

•        Discuss factors of equity in hands-on labs

•        Analyze data on the impact of online labs

•        Outline the development process for online labs, including design choices

•        Describe the unplanned benefits of developing online labs

ACCESS will share development materials and final products for several of their newly implemented "dry" labs.
