"Mix It Up!" will be a real time blended presentation demonstrating the combination of emerging technologies that can be used to provide professional development (PD) for faculty teaching blended and online courses meeting many expectations of the Quality Matters framework. Tools for sharing content for online learning that are engaging and interactive will be shared as well as our successes, challenges, and lessons learned from using the tools. Any person providing K-20+ professional development that serves blended or online students will benefit from this presentation.
Examples of how our team utilizes emerging technologies to deliver and provide professional development will be shared. During this blended presentation, participants will engage with each other and the presenters, via discussion, polling, and other activities using technology. The presentation's emphasis will be on combining technologies and formats to provide faculty PD in blended, online, asynchronous and synchronous formats. Items that will be shared include Adobe Connect, wikis, learning management systems, free technology such as Today's Meet as well as online shared sites such as Pinterest, Diigo, or WordPress. These tools will not only be demonstrated, but information will be shared as to how to use these tools for blended or online instruction.
