An Official Review for QM Certification of a course is the best way to benchmark design efforts and improvements. And, it’s the only way to certify course quality for everyone to see — with the QM Certification Mark. Certification of course design quality is also an indicator of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM). A course becomes QM-Certified once it meets QM Rubric Standards at the 85% threshold or better and meets all Essential Specific Review Standards. You’ll also receive useful recommendations from the review team that will help improve the course. If your course does not initially meet QM Rubric Standards, you will be able to submit an amended course with the reviewer-suggested updates during the amendment phase.
Organizations can have a course reviewed in its entirety (Full Course Review) or have a Template + Content Review. QM recommends a Template + Content Review if an organization (1) uses a standard template for course design across subject areas and (2) intends to submit five or more courses for review. For courses that use a common template, the template portion of the review ensures greater consistency of results from course to course. Official Full Course Reviews use all Template and Content Standards.
