TOC Online Facilitator Certification (TOFC)

The TOFC is an intensive, three-week course that prepares participants to earn the QM Certified Online Facilitator role for the TOC workshops. The course prepares qualified participants to facilitate the online Teaching Online Certificate workshops (all seven), which include preparation, navigation, management, and assessment. A synchronous session is held at the end of the course to review the course content and provide an opportunity to share experience and ask questions.
Upon completion of this certification, the online TOC workshops will be available upon request from QM for Independent TOC Certified Online Facilitators in Quality Matters' learning management system (Canvas). A technology fee of $50.00 per enrollment will be charged to the institution, which includes site preparation, maintenance, and technical support. The cap for the online workshops is 20 participants per session. Multiple sessions must be requested to accommodate more than 20 participants.
- Identify the expectations for Independent Facilitators.
- Identify the tasks required to be a successful Independent TOC Facilitator.
- Write helpful feedback for TOC participants.
- Summarize the responsibilities and logistics of facilitating QM workshops.
- Award TOC participants a digital credential.
Successful completion of all seven Teaching Online Certificate workshops
A substantial time commitment is required to demonstrate the competencies necessary to complete the TOFC. Participants enrolled in the TOFC should expect to spend approximately 20 hours completing this course in three weeks (some participants spend much more time than 20 hours). The ability to attend the synchronous session during the third week.
The synchronous session is mandatory for all participants in the course.
