Examining the Impact of a Quality Assurance Initiative on Student Success

Description

California State University, East Bay started a Quality Assurance (QA) Initiative in Spring 2015. Since it's inception, we have certified over 200 courses through Quality Matters. We've had 21 faculty cohorts participate in a grant to receive QM training facilitated by California State University, East Bay eLearning Specialists. These accomplishments have raised an important research question: how do we demonstrate that QA initiative has contributed to student success on our campus? Understanding the significance of this contribution is essential for shaping future efforts.

To explore this question, the Institutional Effectiveness & Research(IER) department has developed a dashboard to visualize the impact that the QA initiative has had on student success. In this presentation, we will view this dashboard that uses data to demonstrate the impact that quality assurance trainings have had on student success.  In addition, we will review the historical studies that have been conducted by faculty research associates to gain further insight into the relationship between the QA Initiative and student success.
